京劇同西方歌劇的相似之處在于它們都有唱段和道白,有悲劇,也有喜劇。但它們畢竟是很不一樣的戲劇。
西方歌劇的表現(xiàn)手法一般比較現(xiàn)實(shí)主義,而京劇則大量采用象征手法,對(duì)時(shí)空變化的表現(xiàn)極其自由。
京劇的另一特色是臉譜。京劇臉譜象征著人物的性格,不同的顏色表示不同的性格。例如,黑色代表剛直,白色表示背叛和狡詐,紅色則常用來表明忠誠。
