Thank you for giving me your precious time to attend the farewell party of me and my wife. I would like to take this opportunity to say goodbye to you and, through you, to extend my sincere thanks to more people and friends from Bangladesh, for the care, support and trust my wife and I have received during our one year and a half time here in the country.

Ladies and gentlemen,

離別之際，最令我倍感欣慰的是中孟關系發展。我很榮幸自己首次出任大使便來到孟加拉國。我和我的同事，與大家共同努力，全面落實2016年習近平主席訪孟期間，兩國領導人達成的系列重要共識，兩國高層交往不斷，政治互信日益增強，防務執法合作增多，人文交流異彩紛呈，經貿合作成績亮眼。去年12月31日我有幸在第一時間，成為哈西娜總理大選獲勝后接見的外國使節。今年7月1日到6日哈西娜總理成功訪華，中孟關系正處于歷史最好時期，我為自己能夠在這一深刻變革的新時代，為兩國友誼與合作貢獻綿薄之力感到無比幸運。

Upon saying goodbye, what comforts me the most is the development of China-Bangladesh relations. This is the first time in my life that I am appointed as ambassador, and Bangladesh is the country to receive me, which makes me feel honored. Together with my colleagues and all of you, I have striven to implement the important consensuses achieved by the leaders of our two countries during President Xi’s visit to Bangladesh in 2016. We have seen constant high-level exchanges, strengthened political mutual trust, enhanced defense and law enforcement cooperation, fruitful people-to-people exchanges and satisfying trade and economic collaboration results. In December 31st last year, I had the privilege to be the first foreign envoy to call on the Hon’ble Prime Minister after she won the election. This year, Prime Minister Hasina payed a successful visit to China from July 1st to 6th. China-Bangladesh relations have reached the best time ever. I feel so lucky to be able to contribute to the friendly cooperation between our two countries in this new era of profound changes.

Ladies and gentlemen,

離別之際，最令我深情眷戀的是中孟友誼。我遍訪孟加拉國8個大區，深入考察中孟企業、施工現場、學校、鄉村、市場以及邊境口岸、經濟產業園區，可以說走遍了孟加拉國的山山水水，跨越了孟加拉國的東西南北，結交了政治家、企業家以及藝術家、宗教家，走訪了大學教授、農民、漁民、工人各個階層家庭，走訪了羅興亞人安置營入孟避難民眾。充滿活力的鄉村，真誠友好的人民，千姿百態的海灘，新鮮美味的食物，美麗迷人的紅樹林，以及帕德瑪大橋、卡納普里河底隧道等重大項目，都給我留下難以忘懷的眷戀和記憶。

Upon saying goodbye, what I will miss the most is China-Bangladesh friendship. I have visited the 8 districts of Bangladesh, and have carried out field investigations in Chinese and Bangladeshi companies, construction sites, schools, villages, markets, border ports and crossings and industrial parks. In some way, I have left footsteps all over the country, travelling from the North to the South, surmounting hills and crossing rivers. Many politicians, entrepreneurs, artists and religious leaders have become my friends. I have met people from all walks of life including college professors, farmers, fishers and workers, and I have gone to Cox Bazar to meet the displaced people. Vigorous villages, the friendly people, beautiful beaches, delicious food, the charming mangrove, and major projects including Padma Bridge and Karnaphuli Tunnel have all left me with unforgettable memory.

女士們、先生們，

Ladies and gentlemen,

離別之際，最令我心存感激的是理解尊重。我衷心感謝孟總統府、總理府、外交部和其他政府部門，你們一直給予我充分的理解，同我和中國駐孟使館協調合作，你們的敬業開放令我欽佩;我還要感謝使團的各位使節給予我的友誼和經驗分享;感謝中資機構、華僑華人、孔院老師、留學生們為中孟關系作出的貢獻;最后，我要特別感謝使館的同事們給予我的無私支持和理解。希望大家把給予我的支持同樣給予我的繼任者。

Upon saying goodbye, what I thank the most is respect and understanding. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Office of the President, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government branches. Thank you all for the understanding that has always been there; thank you for your kind cooperation with me and the Embassy of China; I admire your sense of responsibility and openness. I would like to thank the heads of missions in Bangladesh for your friendship and sharing of experience with me; I would like to thank Chinese institutions, Chinese nationals and expatriates, teachers of Confucius Institutes and Chinese students in Bangladesh for your contribution to China-Bangladesh relations. Finally, I would like to thank colleagues from the Embassy for your selfless support and understanding. I hope that my successor can receive the same support from you.

女士們、先生們，

Ladies and gentlemen,

離別之際，最令我充滿期待的是中孟關系未來。兩國夢想相通，國情相似，人民友好，守望相助，中孟戰略合作邁入黃金時期，明年將迎來中孟建交45周年，相信中孟關系下一個45年更加輝煌。我今后無論身處何處，都會為孟加拉國的發展進步祝福，為中孟友好事業的發展進步祝福，為各位朋友的幸福健康祈福。

Upon saying goodbye, what I expect the most is the future of China-Bangladesh relations. The dreams of our two countries are connected; the national conditions of our two countries are similar; our peoples are friendly toward each other and are always ready to lend a helping hand to each other. China-Bangladesh strategic cooperation has entered a golden era, with the coming year marking the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties. I have every reason to believe that the next 45 years of China-Bangladesh relations will be even more glorious. No matter where I will be in the future, I will always pray for the development and progress of Bangladesh; I will always pray for the growth and advance of China-Bangladesh friendship; I will always pray for your happiness and health.

凡數過往、皆屬序章，衷心祝愿中孟友誼萬古長青!

All that has happened in the past is just a prologue for tomorrow. I wish that China-Bangladesh relations will endure forever and ever!
