Combustible ice, also known as the natural gas hydrate(NGH), is referred to as a new source of energy that can meet humans’ needs for 1,000 years and the preferred alternative taking the place of conventional energy sources such as oil and coal in the future. It is a white solid fuel composed of methane and water at low temperature and high pressure at the bottom of the ocean floor, which can be ignited directly. One cubic meter of flammable ice can release 160 to 180 cubic meters of natural gas, which is 10 times more energy than coal and does not produce any residue or waste gases after burning.
