英語四級詞匯講解：

本句的主干是there is the...apology。兩個(gè)which分別引導(dǎo)兩個(gè)定語從句，其中，第一個(gè)定語從句中又有that引導(dǎo)的定語從句，修飾act;第二個(gè)定語從句中又有Who引導(dǎo)的定語從句，修飾person。

necessity意為“必要性;需要;必然;必需品”。如:

Necessity is the mother of invention.需要是發(fā)明之母。

insulting意為“侮辱的”。如:

After receiving the insulting letter, he became furious.他收到辱罵信后怒不可遏。

英語四級考點(diǎn)歸納：

specific, particular, special都表示“特殊的”，三者的區(qū)別在于:

specific意為“特殊的;明確的;具有特效的”，強(qiáng)調(diào)“具體的;特定的”之意。如:

1) She says she'll come, but I can't nail her down to a specific time.她說她會(huì)來，我卻無法讓她說出確切的時(shí)間。

2) There is a specific tool for each job.各工種配有特定的工具。

particular意為“特別的;獨(dú)有的”，強(qiáng)調(diào)“與眾不同的”之意。如:

1) There was nothing in the letter of particular importance.這封信里沒有提什么特別重要的事。

2) The teacher showed particular concern for the disabled child.老師對那個(gè)殘疾兒童給予了特別的關(guān)愛。

special意為“特別的;專門的”，強(qiáng)調(diào)主觀上的特別對待。如:

This is a special case, deserving special treatment.這是個(gè)特殊的案例，應(yīng)該特殊對待。
