1、相關文化背景知識介紹

⑴ 關于太極拳

太極拳是中華民族古老的一種健身武術，也是民族文化遺產的閃亮之星。現在特別是在清晨，男女老少紛紛練習太極拳，它已經變成了廣大普通百姓的健身運動。隨著中國社會的發展，太極拳已經把中國文化帶出了國門。太極拳鍛煉的是內外兼修，身體的鍛煉和精神情操的培養，它可以調節神經，增強呼吸功能，改善消化系統并能夠預防老年性骨質疏松癥。

⑵ 關于世界環境保護組織

世界自然保護聯盟于1948年建立在瑞士，IUCN是它的英文縮寫。中國野生動物保護協會是IUCN的非政府組織會員之一。主要是保護自然資源的完整性和多樣性，包括拯救瀕危的植物和動物物種等。WWF是世界自然保護基金會的英文縮寫。成立于1961年，總部設在瑞士。為世界各國的野生動物保護項目提供資金和技術，中國的大熊貓、白鰭豚、麋鹿等許多項目都得到了WWF的幫助。1972年6月，聯合國人類環境會議召開，同年的第二十七屆聯合國大會將這次會議的開幕日6月5日定為世界環境日。

⑴ repair  v. 修理；修補
考點：repair sth. 修理某物
例句：No one knew how to repair the engine.

⑵ earn  v. 使獲得
考點：earn a living by  靠。。。謀生
      earn good money 賺大錢
例句：They have bought a new car. They must have earned a lot of money.

⑶ defend  v. 防御，防護，保衛
考點：defend against 保衛，抵抗
      defend from 保護，保衛（不受傷害）
例句：She had to defend herself against the guard dog.

⑷ harm  v. 傷害，損害
考點：do sb./sth. harm  對。。。有害
do harm to sb./sth. 對。。。有害
out of harm’s way  在安全的地方
例句：The child fell over but came to no harm.

⑸ exploit v. 開發，利用
考點：to exploit the poor  剝削窮人
      to exploit the oil under the sea 開發海底石油
例句：The country has a great deal of coal, oil and natural gas, and these are all exploited for energy.

⑹ equip v. 設備，裝備，裝置
考點：be equipped for 準備好，對。。。有準備
be equipped with 裝/配備；安裝
equip for 為。。。裝備；為。。。做準備
equip sb. with  用。。。裝備起來，使裝/具備
例句：We can’t afford to equip the army properly.

⑺ regard  v. 看待；當作；重視
考點：regard…as… 把。。。視為，認為。。。是
例句：She regards him as a little kid who counts for nothing.

3、核心短語講解

⑴ set in  開始，到來
該詞組尤其是指天氣、雨、傳染等的開始、到來。例如：
Autumn sets in and it’s a harvest season.

⑵ stick to 堅持，堅守
to 為介詞，后面通常接sth., 同義詞組還有insist on, adhere to . 例如：
We stuck to this road and finally arrived on time.

⑶ put up 升起，舉起，抬起，進行
該詞組為多義詞組，還有‘建造、提供、展示某物’的意思。例如：
Every day we put up the flag.

⑷ get by  勉強混過，僥幸過去
表示最低程度地滿足條件，相關詞組還有get by on sth. 指‘設法維持’。例如：
I hope I will get by in this difficult exam.

⑸ give away
可以有 give away sth. 或 give sth. away 形式。例如：
The shop is giving away small gifts.

4、核心句型講解

⑴ Anyway, as far as I can see, there’s no point in learning something like that if you can’t earn some money from it.
講解：as far as 是固定短語指‘就。。。方面說，至于’，如as far as I know 據我所知，as far as possible 盡可能。there’s no point in doing sth. 指‘做什么事情是沒有意義的’。例如：
There’s no point in saying like this.

⑵ I believe restaurants should be allowed to go smoke-free of their own free will, so that some restaurants can still serve smokers.
講解：詞組allow sb./sth. to do sth. 指‘允許某人/物做某事’，so that 表示目的，引導的是目的狀語從句。of one’s own free will。指‘出于自愿’，相反詞組為against one’s will. 例如：
He helps this old lady of his own free will.

⑶ I respect the rights of non-smokers to eat in a smoke-free environment, but a total ban will take over smoker’s rights.
講解：smoke-free指‘無煙的’，其他詞組有pollution-free, poison-free等，free from/of sth. 指‘免于。。。，不受。。。’，take over 指‘剝奪，掌管，接收’。例如：
Would you like to take over this company?

5、重點語法知識講解

真實條件句

⑴　真實條件句表現實的可能變為現實的條件，一般用直陳語氣，其連接詞主要有if , unless(=if not), as/so long as, on condition that 等。例如：
You may use the room as long as you clean it afterward.

⑵ 在真實條件句中，主句不能用be going to 表示將來，而用shall, will 這兩個詞。例如：
If you leave now, you will never regret it.
