　　規(guī)則變化：一般在單音節(jié)和部分雙音節(jié)的形容詞的詞尾加-er或-esto大部分雙音節(jié)和多音節(jié)的形容詞，則在其前面加more或most.

　　(1)形容詞比較級用法

　　I thought he was actually poorer than he really was. 我原來認(rèn)為他比實(shí)際上更窮。

　　It is better to be silent than to speak. 說話是銀，沉默是金。

　　Reading is easier than speaking. 讀比說容易。

　　(2)形容詞最高級用法

　　John is the oldest (youngest，strongest，weakest，smallest，cleverest) boy in the class. 約翰是班上年齡最大的(最小的、身體最結(jié)實(shí)的、身體最差的、個子最小的、最聰明的)的男生。

　　Peter is the fattest (thinnest，biggest) boy on the team. 彼特是隊(duì)里最胖(最瘦、個子最大)的隊(duì)員。

　　She is the liveliest (happiest，heaviest，ugliest，friendliest，healthiest，hungriest，prettiest，sleepiest) of us all. 她是我們所有人中最活潑(最快樂、最重、最丑、最友好、最健康、最餓、最漂亮、最困倦)的人。
