一、重點詞匯精講：
1. instance n.

用法：for instance 例如，相當于for example
For instance, we sometime move our heads up and down when we want to say "yes". 例如，當我們想說"是"的時候，我們有時會點頭。
2. exact : a.
正確的，精確的
派生詞：inexact a. 不正確的，精確的;exactly adv. 正確地，精確地
同義詞：correct a. 正確的， accurate a. 準確的，precise a. 精密的，精確的。
3. from side to side
從一邊到另一邊
We move our heads from side to side when we want to say "no".
當我們想說"不"的時候我們會搖頭。
4. with the help of
在…的幫助下
People who can neither hear nor speak talk to each other with the help of their fingers.
既不能聽也不能說的人借助手指交談。
5. at a table
坐在桌旁
One day he entered a restaurant and sat down at a table.
有一天他走進飯店并坐在桌旁邊。

由….組成 此動詞短語沒有被動語態。
例：Words consist of sounds, but there are many sounds which have a meaning and yet are not words. 詞是由聲音組成的，但是，有些聲音有意義卻不是詞。
Language consists of words which we put together into sentences.
語言是由放在一起就能形成句子的詞匯組成。
區別：
consist of , be made up of , be composed of
眾議院由658位成員組成。
The House of Commons consisted of 658 members.
The House of Commons was made up of 658 members.
The House of Commons was composed of 658 members.
二、重點句型:
1. not only … but also
不但… 而且;連接兩個并列的語法結構。
When we want to tell other people what we think, we can do it not only with the help of words, but also in many other ways.
當我們想告訴別人我們想什么時，我們不但可以借助于詞匯而且也可以用許多別的辦法。
我不但聽到而且也看到了。
I not only heard it , but also saw it.
他不但會說英語，而且還會說日語。
He speaks not only English but also Japanese .
不但我不同意他的觀點，而且其他同學也不同意他的觀點。
Not only I but also other students disagreed with him .
不但我喜歡古典音樂，我的父親也喜歡。
Not only I but also my father loves the classic music.
邱吉爾不僅是一位政治家，而且是一位詩人。
Not only was Churchill a statesman, but also a poet.
此處not only 放在句首，主謂倒裝。
2. neither …. Nor 既不…. 也不 連接兩個并列語法結構
people who can neither hear nor speak talk to each other with the help of their fingers.
既聽不見也不會說話的人借助手指相互交談。
她既不會唱歌也不會跳舞。
She could neither sing nor dance .
約翰和我兩人都沒錯。
Neither John nor I am wrong .
3. each time 引導時間狀語從句，表示每次…. 每當….
He took his head each time the waiter brought him something to drink.
每次侍者給他端來喝的東西，他都搖搖頭。
每次我去深圳，都能看到這個城市的巨大變化。
對初學者來說，學習用英語思維比說英語難。
It is more difficult for beginners to learn to think in English than to speak it.
3 ….shows / showed that 從句
Language learning research shows that successful language learners are similar in many ways. (Line 14)

The research shows that SARS is caused by the corona virus.
4. Language learning is different from other kinds of learning. (Line 6)
